The much awaited Esperanto 2018-19, was held o 16th November 2018 with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. Throughout a period of 2 months students involved in physical assessments and clearing the preliminary rounds for group events with a lot of vigour and enthusiasm. The students entered into the spirit of the competitions in a grand way on the final day of assessment. The sports meet began with the welcoming of the Chief Guest Mrs. Aruna C Newton, who is a very well-known personality and high achiever in the field of sports. She is an adventure sports enthusiast. The chief guest was escorted on stage by the NCC students who stood as an epitome of discipline and order. On stage the chief guest was joined by Rev. Fr. P M Lawrence, Principal of SFS Academy who was immensely pleased with the achievements of the students of the institution. The student choir blessed the program with a very melodious prayer song. The torch bearers awed the audience and the chief guest in the opening ceremony. The chief guest and principal declared the meet open by hoisting the SFS Academy sports flag with great respect and pride.

Henceforth, all track event commenced as students cheered for their respective house groups. Athletic events such as shot put, high jump and long jump were witnessed with excitement and curiosity. Groups events such as- kabbaddi, throw ball, Basketball and football displayed the talents and abilities of the students who would probably be professional athletes in the near future. It was a day of hope, a day of enjoyment, competition, vigour and sportive spirit. The prize distribution ceremony took place simultaneously during the day for the track events but eager participants, students and house in-charge teachers awaited the announcement of the overall individual and house champions. All events came to an end at 2:30pm and the final closing ceremony commenced. Rev. Fr. Jijo Manjackal was invited as the chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony. He gave a brief speech on the importance of sports in the life of students and encouraged the participants. Finally, the sports champions were announced on stage.

The chief guest congratulated and awarded all the winners with their trophies. He expressed his pleasure to be able to interact with the winners, participants and all students who continuously supported and pushed their peers to become and perform to the best of their abilities. Overall it was a grand ceremony filled with a lot of fun, joy and excitement.
