We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today.

Children's Day is a day to recognise that children are important and valued members of the society. It's a day to celebrate children just for being themselves. It is a day to listen to children, to marvel at their uniqueness and all they have to offer. Most importantly, it is a reminder that children need love and respect to grow to their full potential. The day is celebrated on November 14th every year and marks the birthday of a great freedom fighter and the first prime minister of independent India- Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. His love for children is known throughout our nation.

On this day the faculty of SFS academy decided to treat its students with an assembly conducted by the teachers. Harmonious songs were sung by them and messages were given to the students about their bright future. The school celebrated this day by giving each child full freedom to decide what they wanted to do. Students came dressed in their favourite attire and some even came dressed as Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The principal spoke on how children are the joy and the epitome of innocence and that this day celebrates them. This day brought teachers and students together as they danced to popular songs within their classrooms and exhibited many talents. It was indeed a very exciting and energetic sight to see. Students also brought snacks and food items and conducted a pot luck lunch in their classrooms. Students spared no expense involving the management in the celebrations. Their enthusiasm and innocence lit up the whole school. Children were given sweets and presents by their teachers and each child was made to feel special as they all are unique in their own way. The day was really wonderful and fun filled as it also bridged the gap and strengthened the student- teacher relationship.
